This pilgrimage route aims to visit the most important places associated with the book of Revelation of St. John, more specifically cities where there were communities of Christians – the seven churches to which he wrote the epistle in the Apocalypse. We will have the opportunity to think about how these words relate to our personal lives.
An important place for us is Ephesus, where, according to tradition, there is a house of St. Mother of God and where the Ecumenical Council was held.
In addition, places related to the activity and life of apostles and saints are visited: St. John (Ephesus), St. Philip and Bartholomew (Hierapolis/Pamukkale), St. Ap. Paul (Ephesus, Laodicea, Colossae), St. Polycarp of Smyrna and St. Irenaeus of Lyons (Izmir), St. Meliton of Sardis (Sardi).
In addition, the famous Troy and resorts of Ayvalık and Kuşadası will be visited.
The trip has a religious nature – every day we plan the Holy Liturgy and prayers. As this is a Muslim country, liturgies will be held in churches in Ephesus and Izmir. In other locations, the time and location will be announced during the trip.
Day 1 Departure from Plovdiv (about. 00.00). Visit to the ancient city of Troy.
Day 2 Visit Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia.
Day 3 Visit to Pamukkale-Hierapolis, Colossi and Laodicea.
Day 4 Visit to Ephesus.
Day 5 Visit to Izmir.
Day 6 Visit to Pergamum and Canakkale.
Day 7 Departure for Bulgaria. Arrival in Plovdiv in the evening.
Price per person in a double room: BGN 1,050. Supplement for accommodation in an individual room: BGN 170.
The price includes:
– 6 nights with breakfast and dinner in hotels;
– Transportation by licensed bus;
– Tolls, parking lots and check-points;
– Tour guide services in Bulgarian according to the described program;
– Medical insurance with a coverage of 2,000 euros.
